weekend in osaka

Takoyaki (pieces of octopus, battered and fried, also apparently known as "pizza ball"), weather warm enough to walk around tights-less, a huge aquarium, a new selection of Japanese candy and good shopping -- what more could you ask for on a weekend excursion?

hmm...have you tried something called an "american dog"? it's sausage with a pancake wrapped around it and cheese, ressembling pigs in a blanket. kumiko and sachiko swear by it...

The grossest foods here are often prefaced with the word "American." It's total propaganda. Although the "American Dog" does sound like something you could get at Arby's.

Lots of great pictures!

American dog sounds good to me right now, but you know with good ingredients, mmm.

I totally MISS takoyaki!!!! I think the only thing I miss more is squid yakisoba!!!!

Sounds like you're having a blast in Japan. I'm so jealous! I spent a year in Okinawa, while in the military, and was in heaven.
