On Saturday I had a going away party at Bahooka, home of the flaming bowl drink and a giant carrot-eating fish named Rupert. Sitting at the next table was a very big, very loud, very trashed group of people who, it turned out, had gone to high school with me. We were all in the audio-visual class together, otherwise known as "Dragonflicks." Wasn't that an awesome idea? To take the dorkiest class on campus and give it an even dorkier name, one that conjures up images of wizards and D & D? Everyone else in the class wore satin bomber jackets embroidered with a picture of a dragon holding a video tape. But my best friend and I refused. Adamantly. That may be why a handful of people, all of whom were sitting at the next table at Bahooka on Saturday, reported us for having "bad attitudes" and we were given a talking to by the clueless teacher. It was all very thoroughly outlined in the zine I wrote when I was 16. Anyway, it seemed right somehow, that they were there on the night of my going away party. My bad attitude is taking me all the way to Japan!

On Sunday I went to the LA Zoo for the first time in ages. It was great. I could have watched the sea lions all day. And I'm obsessed with that little lemur in the last picture.

Four days left....
Thanks to Cecil for taking the Bahooka pics.
