Last night I was suddenly inspired to make chocolate chip cookies using the recipe in Jeffrey Steingarten's book. They were good, but so full of butter that a couple melted on the cooling rack, dripping down into cookie stalactites. We ate them anyway.

I haven't read that book, but will look into it. In the past I've enjoyed food themed books such as Like Water For Chocolate. Earlier this summer my book club read La Cucina. If you enjoy reading about a woman who cooks and eats voraciously..and eats lots of weird animal parts I recommend it. And of course there's that love and food connection which also has a large appetite in this book! :-) Great website. Love the banner. Love,
